Arrival and Departure

Kessel Kids opens its doors at 4:45 a.m. and we are here until about 6:00 p.m. at night. If the open times should change you will be notified a week prior. We have mats that the children can go back to sleep on when they arrive. Please talk to the staff about your child's day, but please be respectful of the rest of the children sleeping.

To check your child into the center, each day the parent should:

• Escort your child into the center
• Assist your child in hanging up his/her coat and putting belongings away
• Notify a member of the teaching staff of the child's presence
• Ensure the child's comfort
• Check your child in on the computer

To check your child out of the center, each day the parent should:

• Please assist them with putting on their coat and collecting belongings
• Notify teaching staff that you're taking your child
• Check your child out on the computer
• The child's mailbox in the room contains things they have done for that day. Please check them for daily notes.

Helping Your Child Adjust

We encourage parents ot visit our program with your child prior to his/her enrollment. This will help your child to learn our daily routines, and answer questions that you or your child may have. This will also help your child have a secure start at the center. Also, some children have difficulty separating from their parents in the morning. We have found that parting comments such as, "I'll pick you up right after nap" or "You can tell me about your day tonight" are more desirable than "Mommy doesn't want to leave you, but I just have to go to work!" Please feel free at any time to call the center if you have a concern about your child.
