Food Program

Kessel Kids is a participant of the Child and Adult Food Care Program. We follow the guidelines for nutritious snakcs, receive training in food and nutrition, and observe their recommendations for preparation and handling. We are required to annually request families to fill out a free and reduced lunch application for our records. This enables us to be partially reimbursed for some of the costs in serving nutritious meals and snacks. Meals at Kessel Kids are served family style for children aged 3 and up. Children learn how to pass the food, properly pour beverages, and proper table manners. Staff members are also encouraged to eat along with the children. Menus are posted in each room and are available to parents on request.

Breakfast is served at 7:00 a.m.
Morning Snack is served at 9:00 a.m.
Lunch is provided by Regional Health Services and is served at 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon Snack is served at 3:00 and again at 3:45 for children after school.
