Parents' Schedule, Holidays, Inclement Weather

Scheduling: All schedules are to be turned in to the Director by Friday morning for the followeing week. Monthly schedules are sitting by the computer and are greatly appreciated. Schedule changes should be made as soon as possible to make staff accomodations.

Inclement Weather: Kessel does not usually close for weather conditions.However, in the event that this should happen, we will notify parents as soon as possible over Channel 3 TV station, the local cable TV station, the Cresco radio station, and/or by phone. If you, as a parent, are working at your place of employment and are not able to get here to pick up your child, we must have someone designated who is allowed to pick up your child, and notify us by phone that this is going to occur.

Holidays: Kessel Kids Child Care and Learning Center will be closed during the following holidays: New Years' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day. When the holiday falls on a weekend, we will be closed either that Friday or Monday. Days surrounding the holiday may be days that the center chooses to close due to low enrollment. Parents will be notified three days in advance if we will be closed those days.

Emergency Situations: Emergency Procedures for fire and tornadoes are posted in each classroom. Practice drills are conducted on a regular basis. Our office is equipped with an emergency weather radio that will alert us to any emergency weather situation. Our staff members are all trained in first-aid procedures and CPR. In case of fire, the alarm will sound and everyone will be evacuated to the Regional Health Services (hospital), or the Headstart building located next door. Parents will be notified by telephone or radio/television broadcast on KCZQ Radio and Channel 3 TV. In the case of a tornado warning, children will be evacuated to the basement tornado shelter.
