All records and files are kept confidential, but will be reviewed by the Director, staff members, and DHS licensing consultant.
Non-compliance Policy: Childcare services may be cancelled for your child if you fail to provide medical and/or other enrollment forms. Payments also need to be made in a timely manner.
Grievance Policies and Procedures: All grievances must be submitted to the Director. The Director will respond within 5 working days. The director will work with the board to come to a decision. If you are not satisfied with the decision you may address the board directly. These grievances will be discussed by the board and will be placed on the agenda at the Board's regular meeting with a decision in 30 days.
Parental Access: Kessel Kids Child Care gives parents unlimited access to their children and to the providers caring for their children during the center's hours of operation, or whenever their children are in the care of the center, unless parental contact is prohibited by court order.
Admissions Policies: Kessel Kids Child Care Center has been designed to provide child care for children whose parents are absent from the home while attending classes or working. Kessel Kids does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, or national origin. Kessel Kids is a non-profit organization agency licensed for 50 children. Kessel Kids Child Care operates with a Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations.
Licensing: Kessel Kids Child Care Center is licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services. Our center is inspected every year. The state licensed the center for 50 children that are 2 weeks to 12 years of age. The hours of operation are 4:45 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The state of Iowa requries us to follow all licensing policies and procedures while in operation. The book of licensing regulations is available for your reference in the Director's office.
Security: Kessel Kids has each family complete a Pick-Up Permission Form at the time of enrollment, which will enform the center of the person(s) who has permission to pick up your child(ren). Only those who have written permission from the parent will be allowed to take your child(ren) from the center. Please be aware that proper identification will be required before a child will be released from the center. In cases of divorce, it is important that the registering parent indicate on the form who has legal custody, and the registering parent is required to provide the center with a copy of the divorce decree to know custodial issues. If a custodial parent enrolls their child in the center and does not authorize the other parent to pick the child up, we need legal documentation to enforce that. If no documentation is provided and the other parent shows up, Kessel will call the custodial parent right away and notify them that they are here. Unfortunately, we will be unable to keep the child in the building without proper documentation.
