The Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce is conveniently located in the center of town at the corner of Highway 9 and Elm Street, overlooking the skyline of businesses along the highway and downtown. The Welcome Center is your information resource for Cresco and Howard County as well as Northeast Iowa and Southeast Minnesota.

Learn about the 5 Admirals, the World's First Stewardess; Ellen Church, and Dr. Norman Borlaug; world renowned and recognized as the Father of the Green Revolution and humanitarian who has saved over a billion lives from starvation. Norman Borlaug grew up just south of Cresco and graduated from Cresco High School. Cresco celebrates the Norman Borlaug Harvest Fest the third full weekend in September.
Stop in and visit the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame (IWHOF), located inside the Welcome Center. Established in 1970, The IWHOF honors native Iowans who have made significant contributions to amateur wrestling. Check out the 40-foot mural outside the Welcome Center and take a selfie next to Dan Gable!
Canoe the Upper Iowa River and Turkey River, explore the Prairie Springs Recreational Trail and the Outdoor Fitness Trail with equipment strategically placed along the recreation trail. Enjoy your run/walk/bike/and work-out along the trail, as this scenic experience now adds a challenge to all fitness levels.
Over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, 25 miles of groomed cross country ski trails with additional snowshoe and walking trails, a challenging golf course, hunting and fishing sites, farmers markets, historic and haunted Cresco Theater & Opera House, and Freedom Rock are just a bit of what Cresco has to offer.
